American Infrastructure Wins an ASTD “BEST Award”

Awards Recognize Organizational Commitment to Employee Learning

Worcester, Pennsylvania, October 15, 2008 – American Infrastructure is proud to announce that it ranked third in the American Society for Training & Development’s 2008 BEST Awards Program. American Infrastructure is among 40 prestigious organizations from the United States and several other countries to receive an ASTD BEST Award.

Representatives from American Infrastructure received the ASTD BEST Award during a reception held in Washington, D.C. on October 2nd. The following day, AI and other winning organizations gave presentations about their learning and development practices during the “Learn from the BEST” professional development event.

“We constantly strive to provide our employees with career development opportunities to grow, excel and succeed” says American Infrastructure’s CEO, Ross Myers. “This, in turn, will help us compete successfully with the best, fastest, and safest competitors in the world, build a great place to work, and leave footprints in our industry.”

The ASTD BEST Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success through employee learning and development. According to Tony Bingham, ASTD’s president and CEO, “The BEST Award winners set the standard for exceptional learning and performance. They excel at aligning learning with business needs, demonstrating business impact, and providing a broad range of learning opportunities for employees. And, senior leaders in BEST organizations provide deep support for learning and model leaders as teachers.”

Applying organizations submitted quantitative and qualitative information to ASTD about their learning and development practices and programs. Their applications were assessed by members of the BEST Awards advisory committee, a group of experts in the learning and performance field.

More information about the 2008 ASTD BEST Award winners may be found in the October 2008 issue of T+D magazine and online: www.astd.org/best. Details about the 2009 ASTD BEST Awards program will be available next February.
