Success Marks Coordinated Expansion Into Delaware
Conditions at Red Lion Hunt similar to those found on most southeastern Pennsylvania site projects.
Allan A. Myers has committed the time and resources to establish a strong presence in the Delaware market, and early results reinforce the initiative. Two large AAM site development projects are currently in progress there, one in Christiana for a national home builder and another in Magnolia for a large regional builder. At approximately 120 acres each, Red Lion Hunt (Christiana) and Chestnut Ridge (Magnolia) are similar in scope, but differences abound. While terrain and soil conditions in Christiana are very similar to those in southeast Pennsylvania, they are quite different in 'lower' Delaware, where the combination of a flat landscape and bad weather presents different challenges altogether. But with GPS technology in the equipment, excavation in wet and muddy conditions like those at Chestnut Ridge becomes a science, and work can progress with little compromise to schedule. Also, this area of the state is served by a new company-owned asphalt facility in nearby Cheswold, Delaware, greatly expediting the paving phase of the work. Chestnut Ridge is on schedule to deliver in the fall of 2006; Red Lion Hunt is due for delivery shortly.

conditions are quite different in southern Delaware, where a little rain can create big challenges. GPS technology helps maintain schedule.
