Route 43 Construction Complete in Maryland
Ribbon-cutting ceremonies were recently held for the official opening of Maryland Route 43, a new highway designed to facilitate traffic flow between MD Route 40 and MD Route 150. On hand were officials from the Maryland State Highway Commission, the governor and other state and local leaders. The project required three years to complete and included four miles of new roadway and nine bridges, the longest being a 150' twin span over busy Route 40. That bridge appears in the center of the photo below.

Finesse is required by R.G. Griffith crew as they backfill under fiber-optic lines that pass through a new residential site development project in Gainesville, VA, for Brookfield Homes. These fiber-optic lines run the length of the East Coast from Massachusetts to Florida. Phase 1 of the
project is complete, with subsequent phases of work to resume in 2007.

Self-Performed Work
Delivers Maryland
Residential Site On Time

American Infrastructure Maryland (Fallston) is finishing the total site development of Greenway, an 80-acre residential construction project in Havre de Grace, MD. When we last reported on Greenway, work had just begun on a bridge over the CSX Railroad tracks adjacent to the site. Now complete, with all work self-performed by American Infrastructure, the bridge was built with no interruption to rail traffic. The American Infrastructure articulated tree spade relocated 80 mature trees on the site. A lime soil-stabilization process was introduced, helping keep the entire job on schedule. Our ability to self-perform and control the work results in on-time (or early) delivery of sites like this for owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
