  Chairman's Message Maryland Performance Recognized
By Multiple Industry Partners

A. Ross Myers

McGraw-Hill recently reported that American Infrastructure is now the largest heavy and highway contractor in the Mid-Atlantic. This news certainly pleases us, but our stated intention has always been to be the best heavy and highway contractor in the Mid-Atlantic. That, of course, is a never-ending process, and everyone here understands that a commitment to constant improvement at all levels is necessary to make it happen. Programs such as Delay-Free Production and our Zero-Injury initiatives, as well as others, are designed, and have been implemented, to help us provide what customers want most: a consistent, ever-improving product-delivery system wherever we work. American Infrastructure is often awarded work in a new geographical area by a customer who was pleased with our performance in another geographical area, and trusts that the same result will be achieved. It is our goal to make sure that it is even better.
On a roll: (Clockwise from top) Crew in D.C. gets Centex award, STEP Award received from ABC, DelDOT commends materials and Aberdeen asphalt plant wins Diamond Achievement Award for operating efficiency and quality material.

American Infrastructure-Maryland has been steadily moving into a position of dominance in the Maryland market since its inception in 1998. With two offices in the I-95 corridor, one north of Baltimore in Fallston, and a southern office in Greenbelt, AI-Maryland has the advantage of regional presence plus the resources of American Infrastructure (Corporate). This association gives AI-Maryland competitive advantage in all the heavy construction services, including bridge and highway construction, site development and water treatment plants. And with three hot-mix asphalt facilities serving both sides of the Chesapeake, our Independence Construction Materials unit serves a large area as well.

Our aim is not to just do these things, but to do them exceptionally well. Success builds on success, and AI-Maryland’s growth track requires that superior service and customer satisfaction be paramount as we pursue our goals. It is this attitude that yields recognition in the form of the awards shown on this page. Within the industry or from the customer side, we are building strong relationships and a solid reputation in the market. As with any other market we pursue, uncommon commitment puts us on the growth track and superior performance keeps us on it. AI-Maryland and Independence Construction Materials appreciate the recognition of that performance.
